Terms of Service

By subscribing to or using Black Hills Broadband services, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.
1. Service Agreement
Black Hills Broadband ("BHB," "we," "our") provides internet access and related services to customers in the Rapid City, SD area. Services are provided on a month-to-month basis unless otherwise specified in a written agreement.
2. Payment Terms
Service fees are billed monthly in advance. Payment is due on your billing date each month. Late payments may result in service interruption. We reserve the right to charge a reconnection fee for accounts that have been suspended for non-payment.
3. Equipment
Equipment provided by BHB (modems, routers, ONTs, radios) remains the property of BHB. Customers are responsible for keeping equipment safe and returning it upon service termination. Lost or damaged equipment may be subject to replacement charges.
4. Service Interruptions
BHB makes commercially reasonable efforts to maintain continuous service. However, service may be interrupted for scheduled maintenance, emergency repairs, or circumstances beyond our control. BHB is not liable for damages resulting from service interruptions.
5. Termination
Either party may terminate service with 30 days written notice. BHB reserves the right to terminate service immediately for violation of this agreement or the Acceptable Use Policy. There are no early termination fees for month-to-month customers.
Acceptable Use Policy

BHB services may not be used for any purpose that is illegal, harmful, or that interferes with the network or other customers. Prohibited activities include but are not limited to:
- Transmitting unsolicited bulk email (spam)
- Unauthorized access to computer systems or networks
- Distribution of malware, viruses, or other harmful software
- Hosting content that is illegal under applicable law
- Network scanning or probing without authorization
- Actions that materially degrade network performance for other customers
Violation of this policy may result in immediate service termination without refund.
Privacy Policy

BHB is committed to protecting your privacy. We collect the minimum information necessary to provide and bill for our services.
Information We Collect
- Contact information (name, address, phone, email)
- Billing information (payment method details, billing history)
- Network usage data required for troubleshooting and capacity planning
Information We Do Not Sell
BHB does not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not engage in behavioral advertising based on your internet usage.
Data Retention
We retain customer information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter for legal and billing purposes.
Call Before You Dig
Black Hills Broadband has underground fiber infrastructure throughout our service area. Before any excavation or digging on your property or public right-of-way, you are legally required to contact South Dakota 811 to have underground utilities marked.

Broadband Consumer Labels
In accordance with FCC requirements, Black Hills Broadband provides standardized Broadband Consumer Labels for all service plans. These labels disclose pricing, speeds, and other key service information.
